NATIONAL MEN COOK DINNER DAY

Hey dear,
How's your weekend going?

Every first Thursday in the month of November is National Make Dinner Day.

So yesterday was National Men Make Dinner and i was just curious about beliefs and perception about men cooking so decided to share my thoughts with you.

Before i share my thoughts, I want to know your take on men cooking?

Do you see it as a nice gesture, a taboo or a responsibility for men to cook also.

In some part of the world like Nigeria where i come from, certain culture/ tradition(s) belief it is not right for a man to cook or even step his feet in the kitchen. Such traditions belief it is totally inappropriate for a man to engage in any form of kitchen chores. In fact it is seen as a taboo because they are the head of the house.

Women are believed to be the caretakers of the home, who look after the children, prepare meals, shop for household groceries and clean the home.

I know you are already wondering my take on this...... Personally, i feel men are entitled to cook too, yes i do.

Before i talk of the ancient  during the days ancestral parents, let me highlight some few things about the world we live in today. We live in a world which has developed into a global gender equality based society. Almost every sector today, from economic, social, political and other industries in our society is based on gender equality.

Now let's go back in time to the ancient days. At the time of our ancestral parents, the man does everything to provide food and money for his family. Women basically do no work aside household chores. I can try to understand if in that era men are obliged not cook. In my own understanding, i can try to understand maybe because the man does a lot of work in providing for the family, doing hard jobs etc. making the woman responsible for the home but i still don't see it as a taboo when a man try to helps out nah.

Let's now come back in time to the moment we are living. A woman basically goes to work same as the Man, earns a source of income for the family, comes back same time as the man or even late than the man and still expects etc. her to do all household chores, cooking, help the children with assignments and others?

No way...... I don't support that. Coming together as a family, either as partners, siblings or friends i feel the Male gender should play a role in ensuring the home is kept well and provided for.

If the female gender is sick, tired, away or late try to help in any way you can and stop feeling entitled not to do certain things. Do you even mean you can’t prepare a good meal without any reason?

Like wow, how do you even cope eating out the whole year? Well, no judgement

Men in the building what are you cooking for your bae, spouse, sibling or friend today??

Ladies how many of you have had a meal by a Male friend, partner, sibling or colleague???

Time to give us those reviews...
How was the meal??? Just checking for a friend😁

Well, i have it sure did taste good.
I hear some guys meal taste better than the ladies how true is this?

Do you believe men shouldn't cook? Kindly share your thoughts in the comment section.

Yeah, that's how we stepping into the weekend dearies.

Love,
